I aim to provide a reassuring, compassionate service, supporting people with caring for their animals.
I graduated from the University of Reading in 2010 with BSc (hons) Animal Science. This was followed by two years further study leading to completing an Advanced Certificate in Veterinary Physiotherapy in 2012, through Canine and Equine Physiotherapy Training (CEPT), accredited by the University of Middlesex. I am a full member of the Institute of Registered Veterinary and Animal Physiotherapists (IRVAP), and on the Register of Animal Musculoskeletal Practitioners (RAMP), required to complete a minimum of 25 hours of CPD each year, and insured for public and professional liability. Physiotherapy should not be used as a substitute for veterinary medicine, but is a valuable complementary therapy. In addition to the vet, I feel it is essential for your therapist(s), instructor, farrier, saddle fitter, dentist, etc. to work together for best results. As such, I am happy to attend joint consultations with other professionals. Please make sure that any ‘back person’ or therapist treating your animal is suitably qualified and insured, and working legally. Don’t be afraid to ask questions – anyone treating your animal should be happy to answer any queries that you may have. I am based in Herne Bay, and cover most of Kent with my ambulatory practice, and also run a weekly clinic at Thanet Vets Birchington. Sofia Graham BSc (Hons) AdvCertVPhys MIRVAP (VP) MRAMP |
